Lubuk Sikaping, (Antara Sumbar) - The Government of Pasaman District, West Sumatra, is ready to realize local area as the District of Eligible Children so that the attention and protection of children will be more optimal.
Regent of Pasaman, Yusuf Lubis in Lubuk Sikaping, Tuesday (Aug 29), said the Children's Worthy Regency (KLA) has a child-based development system.
"To realize it, it needs our support and commitment together, especially since we have formed this KLA Task Force Team," he said.
According to him, the state is obliged to protect the rights of children because the child is a potential future that must be maintained in order to grow and develop properly.
"The child must be assured of family security, the community, the school, the government, and also the human dignity and prestige. Government has also enacted Law number 35 of 2014 on Child Protection," he said.
He said one of the efforts of local government to realize KLA, namely by carrying out socialization about the protection and rights of children.
"With this socialization, people know about children's rights and child protection in accordance with the rules, such as preventing children from all forms of violence, discrimination, trafficking of children, and employing minors," he said.
Earlier, he said, local government has been awarded Children's Decent 2017 from Women Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry of RI.
"Therefore with the existence of award, the protection of children should we improve together," he said.
With the establishment of KLA Task Force, he hopes to carry out his duties and functions well.
"Let us improve communication, coordination and good cooperation in development of this KLA," he added. (cha)
