Road to Mandeh, South Pesisir is Jammed

Painan, West Sumatra, (Antara Sumbar) - The road to Mandeh Tourism Area located in Koto XI Tarusan Sub-district, South Pesisir District, West Sumatra, is jammed along six kilometers due to the explosion of tourist visits to the location.

"Towards noon until now the congestion still occurs. Police and Transportation Agency continue to find its solution," Head of Tourism, Youth and Sports of South Pesisir, Zefnihan stated in Painan, Tuesday (June 27).

He conveyed the cause of pure congestion due to booming tourists along with the increasing popularity of the region.

In addition to the continued promotion by district, provincial and ministerial governments, the role of mass media in popularizing the region is also inevitable.

In addition, he added various events such as Mandeh Festival and community activities off road racers that explore Mandeh Tourism Area with the theme "West Sumatera Adventure Mandeh 2017" also contributed.

Besides Mandeh Area, the road to Carocok Beach in Painan area is also experiencing congestion but it does not along the road of Mandeh Area.

"We are optimistic with current situation target of tourist arrivals per day 30,000 to 50,000 people during Eid holidays reached," said Zefnihan.

To provide detailed information about the ins and outs of mainstay attractions in the district, local district governments empower 15 pairs of uda-uni in several posts.

The posts are spread at several points such as Minangkabau International Airport, Rest Area of Sibingkeh, Mandeh Area and Carocok Beach in Painan. (cha)
