Batusangkar, (Antara Sumbar) - Tanah Datar District Government sets up a Tourism Development Master Plan (RIPP) of that area to increase local income and public welfare, Tanah Datar Regent, Irdinansyah Tarmizi stated in Batusangkar here, on Friday (March 17).
"Tourism is a priority sector to be increased beside agriculture and human resource," he said.
By doing that action, it will create mentality of local community that can increase their income by utilizing tourism sector, he said.
"Tourism sector can be one of the sources of community livelihoods later," he noted.
He explained every tourism object there should have tour guides who know and understand the history of that object such as in Istano Basa Pagaruyung.
In there, he said, tour guides existance are needed to tell the history of Istano, Pagaruyung king, pets of the king and others to attract the visitors more.
"So travelers who come can understand the story of tourism object they visited," he affirmed.
Meanwhile, Head of Tourism, Youth and Sports Agency of Tanah Datar, Edisusanto said the development of tourism potential in Tanah Datar is grouped into five zones.
He explained Zone I tourism development consists of Limo Kaum sub-district, Sungai Tarab, Tanjung Emas, and Padang Ganting.
Zone II are Lintau Buo sub-district, North Lintau Buo, Sungayang, Tabek Patah and Tanjung Baru. Then Zone III in Rambatan Sub-district and South Batipuh.
Besides, Zone IV are X Koto Sub-district and Batipuh, and Zone V is a special zone of Nagari Tuo Pariangan which has been crowned as one of the most beautiful regions in the world.
"Tourism potential in each zone will be increased, especially the potential that has become the iconic of Tanah Datar such as Istano Basa Pagaruyung, Batikam Stone, Angkek-angkek Stone and even the newest namely Nagari Tuo Pariangan," he explained. (cha/ri)
