W Sumatra Prepares Rp32 Billion To Anticipate Road Damages

Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - Provincial Government of West Sumatra prepares Rp32 billion for roads treatment in 2017 and anticipate road damages while Lebaran and Tour de Singkarak implementation, Head of Provincial Highways Division, Public Works and Housing Agency, Matthew Rinaldi stated in here, on Thursday (March 16).

"We have started the treatment from the beginning of this year, especially in several areas of road damage," he said.

In general, he said, the treatment of sevaral roads will be done on a regular basis, so there is no special treatment such as in Islamic moment includes Lebaran and Tour de Singkarak 2017.

Today, provincial government will focus on reparation of W Sumatra-Riau road which had been affected by floods and landslides on March 2017.

Then, it will continue to Sicincin-Malalak route which will be one of alternative roads of Padang-Bukittinggi-Payakumbuh-Riau.

Besides, some spot of landslide prones which appropriate with the data of Pusdalops PB Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Sumatra also be a special concern.

This institution also released dozens spots in prone landslides areas such as Lembah Anai, Malalak, Palupuh, Bonjol, Matur, Palembayan, Tigo Nagari, Simpang Alahan Mati, Malampah, Lubuk Sikaping, Panti, Panorama II or Sitinjau Lauik and Air Sirah, he explained. (cha/ra)
