Agam To Form Integrated Maninjau Lake Rescue Team

Lubuk Basung, (Antara Sumbar) - Agam District, West Sumatra forms an Integrated Rescue Team for saving Maninjau Lake from wasted contamination of fish feeds, Agam Regent, Indra Catri stated in Lubuk Basung here, on Thursday (March 16).

"This team be formed as our special attention to save the lake for local community here," he said.

He said the committee of Integrated Rescue Team of Maninjau Lake comes from regional organizations (OPD), trustee village and other villages.

Each of the OPD has a role in accordancing in their respective fields to save the lake of such contamination.

"This is an additional task of OPD in rescuing the nation's assets and hopefully it goes well," he pointes out.

He explained that action must be done in order to reclean the lake from fish feeds.

Besides, it aims to save the lake which should promote the values ​​of local wisdom, he added.

Earlier, Agam District Government has also established program of Development Movement and Rescue Salingka Maninjau Lake (Gate Pensi).

Then, Salingka Village Forum cleans up Maninjau Lake, but the program did not run properly because of weak management.

"We hope the management of this team should be packaged appropriately and their activities should be reported twice a month," he said. (cha/ri)
