Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - 110 schools of Elementry School, Junior High School and Senior High School in West Sumatra participate in the selection for provincial level of Adiwiyata award, Head of Provincial Section Capacity Environment Agency, Dasril stated in Padang here, on Tuesday (March 14).
"Those schools come from 18 districts and municipalities in this province," he said.
He pointed out the schools which join in Adiwiyata award selection such as 13 schools from Agam, seven schools from Dharmasraya, three schools from Mentawai Islands, six schools from Limapuluhkota, 11 schools from Padangpariaman and two schools from Pasaman.
Then, there are also one school from West Pasaman, 16 schools from South Pesisir, two schools from Solok District, four schools from South Solok, three schools from Tanah Datar, six schools from Bukittinggi, 19 schools from Padang.
Besides, one school from Padang Panjang, seven schools from Pariaman, three schools from Payakumbuh, one school from Sawahlunto and five schools from Solok Municipality.
"Over all, Sijunjung District does not send a delegation of school this year," he said.
He said West Sumatra government is targeting 40 schools in getting Adiwiyata award and they will be evaluated and selected on March 2017.
In general, he explained there are four criterias assessed at school which join in Adiwiyata selection in provincial level.
Then the schools which participate also need to follow environmental activities and infrastructure that exist in those schools such as trash sorting, composting tool, living pharmacy and school garden. (cha/ri)
