Gabah Price In W Sumatra Goes Up 3.15 Percent

Padang (Antara Sumbar) - Statistic of West Sumatra noted the price of gabah (unhulled paddy separated from the stalks) there in farmer level goes up 3.15 percent on February 2017, Head of Provincial Statistic, Sukardi stated in Padang here, on Monday (Mar 6).

"Based on the survey of gabah producer price during February 2017 from 116 observations in seven West Sumatra districts, its price increased from Rp5,553 to Rp5,728 per kilogram," he explained.

Meanwhile, gabah price in milling level increases 3.3 percent from Rp5,658 to Rp5,829 per kilogram.

Actually, he said, price survey is done in South Pesisir District, Solok, Padang Pariaman, Agam, Tanah Datar, Limapuluh Kota and Pasaman.

Sukardi said in farmer level, the highest price of gabah occurs in Solok District which reaches Rp6,600 per kilogram.

The lowest price is Rp4,200 per kilogram in Pasaman District, he added.

He explained based on President Instruction number 5. 2015 about gabah supplying, rice and rice distribution by government, new Government Purchasing Price is set since March 17, 2015. It is Rp3,700 per kilogram for the harvest of dry gabah in farmer level and Rp3,750 per kilogram in milling level.

Then, he added, based on several monitorings, there is no gabah price cases that occur under the setting prices. (cha)
