Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - West Sumatra Provincial Government expects road from Padang Municipality to Mandeh tourism area in South Pesisir along 42 kilometers completed in 2019 to support tourist destination development.
"The process of land acquisition and clearance are over," Vice Governor of West Sumatra Nasrul Abit told in Padang on Thursday.
The budget was obtained with the efforts and support of members of the West Sumatra House of Representatives, Alex Indra Lukman, he said.
"With a budget of Rp100 billion next year, there are about Rp185 billion disbursed by the central government since 2016 from the estimated requirement of Rp324 billion," he said.
He hopes that in 2019 the central government will disburse the budget again so that the road to one of West Sumatra's flagship destinations is completed and comfortably passed.
"We expect the support of all parties to get central funding," he said.
The passage of Padang-Mandeh area was originally built as wide as 12 meters. In the process the road width is reduced to 9 meters and the last being 6 meters.
However, the land that has been freed mostly 12 meters wide to the front of road segment which can still be widened.
Mandeh is a tourism area located in Koto XI Tarusan Sub-district that directly borders with Padang Municipality. The area is only 56 km from Padang with an area of approximately 18,000 hectares.
Existing tourist attraction in Mandeh Tourism Area is Cubadak Island, Batu Kalang Island, Satan Island, Mandiri Hill, Saronjong Gadang and Ketek Island, Langkisau Hill, Cingkuak Island, Carocok Beach, and Pagang Island.
