Painan, (Antara Sumbar) - The Government of South Pesisir District, West Sumatra opens the widest opportunity to invest in the Integrated Marine Tourism Zone (KWBT) of Mandeh because currently only one investor that has been entered the area.

"One such investor is from Italy who manages part of Cubadak Island," Head of South Pesisir Integrated Services and Licensing Services Suardi stated in Painan on Thursday.

He explained in the region there are several exotic islands, there is Bukik Ameh and several other strategic islands that can be used as location to invest.

Previously there were some investors who stated interested in investing in Mandeh, but until now there has been no continuation.

There are even investors who have checked the location, but also no continuation.

"We are currently continuing to promote the potential available in Mandeh and hoped that there are investors who are serious about tourism sector management in the location," he said.

Some of the islands in Mandeh area that can be managed include Bintagor Island with an area of 37 hectares, Pagang Island 32 hectares, Snake Island one hectare, and Marak Island 256 hectares.

Furthermore, Cubadak Island 705 hectares, Taraju Island three hectares, One hectare of Sanctuary Island, Sironjong Kaciak Island three hectares, Sironjong Gadang Island 25 hectares and several other islands.

At that location, investors can develop a variety of tourism rides, inns, docks and even can make a floating restaurant.

While Bukit Ameh has an area of 1,340 hectares and about 400 hectares is currently in the stage of land acquisition. At that location investors can build international class hotels, golf courses, restaurants and more.

Earlier on Tuesday (Oct 17), approximately 140 investors from various countries were participating in Regional Investment Forum (RIF) had visited Mandeh area.

After that, South Pesisir Regent Hendrajoni scheduled a meeting with investors in his official residence.

On that occasion, the Regent offered four bonuses for investors who seriously invested in Mandeh area, among them facilitate the permission of the permits, permission can be done online, permits issued of free of charge except building permit and free tax for five years. (cha)
