Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara, (Antara Sumbar)- Tour de Timor (TdT) 2017 will be organized in December, according to Welly Rame Rohimone of the East Nusa Tenggara tourism office.
"It will be held in December, but the exact date is being discussed," he said here, recently.
The preparations for TdT will begin in November and involve the regional government of East Nusa Tenggara and the Timor Leste Government, he added.
"All stakeholders have been committed to playing respective roles in the implementation of Tour de Timor. We just need to conduct coordination and decide the date," he stated.
TdT will start from Timor Leste and finish in Kupang, the capital of East Nusa Tenggara.
The concept of TdT and Tour de Flores implementation will be similar to the concept of Tour de Singkarak, he said.
Professional cyclists from 30 countries will be invited to participate in the international sport tourism event.
East Nusa Tenggara organize annual TdT and Tour de Flores (TdF) to attract domestic and international tourists to visit the province.
Last year, TdT was organized from Nov 30 to Dec 2.
Timor Island is divided into two, namely West Timor, which is part of Indonesia's East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, and East Timor, which is also known as Timor Leste, with Dili as its capital. (*)
