Garut, W Java, (Antara Sumbar) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo said here on Tuesday the government is seeking to balance its sources of investment so that they would not only come from Japan, China, Europe and the US.

"Tomorrow God willing Sheik Tamim Al Adnani from Qatar will also come to Jakarta, Indonesia. We are indeed now seeking to balance investment sources," he said at the national meeting of Islamic organization Muhammadiyah.

He said the Middle East countries also have to be given attention with regard to balance sources of investment for Indonesia's economic development.

"They must come to Indonesia to see investment opportunities in the country," he said.

He explained that early in December Sheik Muhammad from United Arab Emirates would also come to the country.

"We have invited them because they still do not know much about Indonesia. It is not easy to convince them," he said.

On the occasion President Jokowi emphasized the importance of preserving the country's unity revealing Afghan President Ashraf Ghani's warning that Indonesia as a plural country has big potential for divisions to happen.

"Afghanistan initially had only seven tribes but due to conflicts the number has now increased to 40 groups making the conflicts difficult to settle," he said.

"(We have) 714 tribes. It is a lot and (so) not easy to manage. So be careful. In case of a small case of conflict between individuals immediately settle. Do not postpone it," he said.

President Jokowi said in December, 40 representatives from Afghanistan will come to Indonesia to see condition in the country.

"We have been taken as a role model. They will see Indonesia. Later we will showcase places that could represent unity and diversity in Indonesia. I have not decided yet where they would be taken to," he added. (*)
