Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - Mayor of Padang Municipality, West Sumatra, Mahyeldi Ansharullah asks large-scale entrepreneurs to protect small and medium-sized micro enterprises (MSMEs) especially in marketing strategy.

"The biggest problem of SMEs development is the weakness of marketing strategy, this sector needs to be encouraged by small and big industry class entrepreneurs," he said in Padang on Tuesday (Oct 10).

Synergy between one and other to help small and large entrepreneurs need to be done to increase good production.

In the market, MSMEs actors have difficulties in reaching the wide range of product sales, in this case large-scale entrepreneurs find the market.

It could be, by channeling MSMEs products outside the region or connect with network marketing.

"Thus, their products can be promoted, and the productivity of large businesses also increases," he said.

Currently there are over 2,000 SMEs and large middle class businesses in Padang.

When all of them do synergy and strengthening, it will help in increasing the economic level in Padang.

In addition to the assisting marketing, large entrepreneurs can also assist MSMEs with compliance with regulations.

It means respecting the same rights and obligations with small entrepreneurs both in production and marketing.

"It can be exemplified in some countries such as Vietnam or Japan that there is a synergy between the government and entrepreneurs which are large and small," he said.

Meanwhile, one of the perpetrators of SMEs in Padang Zulkifli (43) mentioned the biggest problems of MSMEs at this time is limited market and interest.
