Cilegon, Banten, (Antara Sumbar) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has called on all components of the nation to be cautious to the threats that may disrupt the territorial integrity of Indonesia and the state foundation of Pancasila.

"We have to be wary of the real warfare that exists both at the cultural and economic levels in this era of free trade and rapid technological developments," the president stated in a ceremonial address delivered during the TNI Anniversary Commemoration at Indah Kiat Dock, Cilegon, on Thursday (Oct 5).

He added that since the independence of Indonesia, there have been many threats to Pancasila and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), both from outside and within the country.

Indonesia, in a pledge read out on the Pancasila Sanctity Day, will develop the determination to defend and practice Pancasila as a source of power to promote unity through struggle and uphold truth and justice for the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Head of State added that all components of the nation must aim for a faster development of the national economic foundation by maintaining political stability and security.

With its political stability and security, Indonesia is expected to continue to win the trust of the international community.

"We must be able to deliver a message that Indonesia is a stable country and the synergy between TNI and other institutions and the government and all components of the nation is absolutely necessary and must be maintained and enhanced," Jokowi emphasized.

The head of state attended the 72nd anniversary of TNI, themed "Together with the People, TNI is Strong," which calls for TNI to coordinate with the people to guard and secure the national interests towards developing the ideals of the nation. (*)
