73 Household Houses Deserve To Be Cultural Heritages

Padang Aro, (Antara Sumbar) - The Head of Preservation Hall of Cultural Heritage of West Sumatra, Riau and Kepri, Nurmatias said that 73 household house in "Thousand of Rumah Gadang" area in South Solok District, West Sumatra, deserve to be cultural heritages.

"We have reviewed 109 houses in Thousand of Rumah Gadang and 73 houses worthy of cultural preservation, while the rest are in damaged condition," he said after the percentage in front of South Solok Regent in Padang Aro on Monday (Sept 25).

There is also a mosque, two surau (mushalla) and one grave on 26 hectares of land.

"The most important thing at this time is a decree (SK) of regent for team formation of cultural heritage researchers," he said.

Next year, South Solok should have a team of cultural conservation experts at least five people, a maximum of seven people.

If there is already a decree of the regent, it opens the opportunity for all parties to help Thousand of Rumah Gadang area. The team of experts consists of community, cultural observers and related OPD.

"If you want to be certified, the assessor can be sent or South Solok sends the file to Jakarta, it is a step to preserve the existing culture," he said.

"The expectation is done in stages starting from the district, provincial and national levels," he said.

Without Regent's decree, he said, the activities undertaken have not been recognized as a heritage of cultural heritage.

The Regent should establish a system to preserve the existing culture so that regions with the spirit of regional autonomy do not eliminate cultures and values contained therein.

Regent of South Solok Muzni Zakaria welcomed it and immediately issued SK expert team so that the certification process of thousand of rumah gadang in becoming cultural heritage can be done immediately.

"We will form as soon as possible. If we can not done it now, we will wait until 2018," he said.

"For regional progress, the government will do it quickly," he added. (cha)
