Bukittinggi, (Antara Sumbar) - The Government of Bukittinggi Municipality, West Sumatra is preparing a package of bajamba dining tour at the location of Kinantan Cultural and Wildlife Park (TMSBK).
Bukittinggi Deputy Mayor, Irwandi in Bukittinggi, on Tuesday (Sept 19) said the move was prepared to add attraction to the tourist attraction which is the biggest contributor to local revenue (PAD) from tourist attraction fee.
Eatting bajamba is a shared meal where some people sit around the dish and food. It is usually done at a custom ceremony or a particular celebration.
In addition to add attractions, he said eating bajamba including a culture that must be preserved and assessed can attract tourists from outside the region to try.
"Because this is Bukittinggi, then the procedure of eating bajamba which is introduced is according to the custom of kurai, the original person of Bukittinggi," he said.
Packages of bajamba dining are provided at Baanjuang Traditional House tourist attraction located within TMSBK area.
As supporters of local government are preparing custom clothes that can be used by visitors, bajamba procession according to kurai custom.
The guidance will be introduced to visitors related to the culture and other technical preparation.
"We are ready in the near future, as the budget for clothing procurement has also been prepared in 2017 Regional Budget (APBD) changes," he said.
Package of bajamba dining tour is expected to increase tourist visits to the area as well as strengthening halal tourism that is being developed in West Sumatra. (cha)
