Tour de Singkarak To Be Launced on October 15

Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - The launch of the ninth international Tour de Singkarak (TdS) cycling race will take place on October 15 in Jakarta while the race starts on November 18 to 26, 2017.

"The schedule is discussed further by the tourism office," Vice Governor of West Sumatra, Nasrul Abit status in Padang, Thursday (Sept 7).

Related to the implementation schedule, budget and route, according to him, there is no problem. Only, for the road in Sumani, Solok District, there are such damaged and can not be fixed on time.

"The status of provincial road damaged along 7.5 kilometers while the existing budget in West Sumatra PU only for repairing 1.5 kilometers," he added.

He apologized to Solok District because of these limitations, which caused the road is not passable by the riders.

But next year, he promised that the road is a priority to be passed by TdS participants.

Meanwhile, Head of West Sumatra Tourism Office, Oni Yulfian said the organizers will still conduct a TdS survey on October 21 to 28, 2017 to ensure all safely passed.

After that the stage and route will be finalized.

The initial plan, the grand start of Tour de Singkarak 2017 held in Batu Sangkar, Tanah Datar District, and finish in Bukittinggi City Tour.

The riders will take nine stages which consist of first stage of Tanah Datar to Padang with a length of 107 kilometers, the second stage Painan-Sawahlunto along 166 kilometers.

Third stage Muaro Sijunjung-Pulau Punjung is 100 kilometers, the fourth stage of Lake Singkarak-Payakumbuh 135 kilometers, the fifth stage of Harau Valley-Padang Panjang 101 kilometers.

Then the sixth stage of Solok Municipality-Padang Aro South Solok 140 kilometers, seventh stage Pariaman-West Pasaman 157 kilometers, the eighth stage Padang Pariaman-Agam 101 kilometers, and the ninth stage Pasaman-Bukittinggi with 90 kilometers circuit. (*)
